The Landings Sailing Club (TLSC) December Update

• The Landings Sailing Club (TLSC) sailors have enjoyed several weekends of excellent racing, including the McIntosh Regatta and the first of the Frostbite series of races that will run into early March. We had both Rhodes 19s and J/24s competing.  
• The first Frostbite Regatta on November 15 featured a downwind start (which always provides much amusement for spectators!) followed by two more close races. Bonnie Blue won the spinnaker class. The Rhodes 19 finishing order was Uno Mas, Peter Pan, Sinbad, and Scholar. These regattas continue over five weekends until the beginning of March. TLSC provides race committee for them.
• The McIntosh Cup Regatta, organized by  Savannah Yacht Club, was held November 8-9.  Although day one was a drifter with racing abandoned mid-afternoon, day two was perfect. The  races featured exciting racing and tactics in both fleets of Rhodes 19s and J/24s.
• Last Sunday’s races featured an appearance by Santa’s helpers on Scholar. While the North Pole is not known as a sailing venue, Santa’s helpers must have been practicing as they won the day’s contests.
• Weekly TLSC races in December will be on Sunday the 7th, Saturday the 13^th, Sunday the 21^st, and Saturday the 27^th. Crews gather to rig at about noon. Members can register to sail via the weekly email sign up sheet.
• TLSC Holiday Party will be on Tuesday December 16 at Delegal Creek Marina from 6 to 9 p.m.
• TLSC promotes opportunities for club members to sail, and bareboat chartering is a great way to experience the joys of sailing in exotic locations, with experienced other crew members. Our own Angela Margolit leads trips offered by Society for the Education of American Sailors (SEAS). Their next trip is to Martinique in February 2026.
