BrightView Landscapes Winter Projects

BrightView Landscapes began to replace the flower beds at TLA-owned facilities and gatehouses this week. These replacements are completed 4 times a year and are included within our annual landscape contract with BrightView.

All gatehouses and TLA-owned facilities received their second application of pine straw for the year ahead of the holiday season.

The second application of mulch was installed at the Landings Community Park playground and The Dog Park this week. A total of 100 yards is applied every year broken into two installation periods and is included within our annual landscape contract with BrightView.

Hurricane Helene Restoration and Clean-up

The Public Works Department continues to address restoration and clean-up post Hurricane Helene. In-house staff is addressing dangerous “hangers”, or broken tree limbs, that pose a potential threat overhanging roads and community paths. Thereafter, staff will remove trees and branches that have fallen into and/or around lagoons. Stump grinding any remaining stumps will follow this work.

Landings Harbor Marina Store and Fish Cleaning Station Roof Repairs

Last week, Divine Roofing removed the old shingles from the roof of The Landings Harbor Marina Store and installed the new shingles. The entire 3,000 square foot roof installation was completed same day, which allowed for very minimal disturbances to the operation and use of the facility. The building was damaged because of the high winds sustained from Hurricane Helene. The roof of the Fish Cleaning Station will be replaced once the building has been reinstalled in its previous location at the marina.
