Suspicious Incident

On Wednesday, October 23, a resident notified Security of a suspicious incident at her residence on Noble Jones Lane. The resident stated that she was awakened by one of her dogs growling the previous evening but ignored it because the dog did not consistently bark like it does when deer come in the yard. The following morning, the resident noticed that her back gate was open and found a shoe in her backyard. Extra patrols will be conducted in the area.

Juvenile-Related Incidents

On Wednesday, October 23, Security responded to Riding Lane for a report of juveniles that were ding-dong ditching. The resident advised his porch camera caught a juvenile male knocking on the door and running away. Security patrolled the area but was unable to locate anyone matching the description of the juvenile. No further reports were received.

On Saturday, October 26, Security responded to Landings Community Park for a juvenile-related incident. The complainant advised that he had been at the basketball court playing basketball with two male juveniles. The two juveniles were horse-playing, so the complainant informed them that he wanted to stop playing. In response, the two individuals began to throw rocks at him and called him names. They began recording the incident and continued to antagonize the complainant, who suffered a small bruise on his left shoulder. The complainant was able to provide a photo of one of the juveniles to Security, but he could not recall their names. The complainant’s mother did not wish to file a report with Chatham County Police Department (CCPD). The identity of the juvenile suspects remains unknown.

Traffic Safety

The Guardian Pro camera/LIDAR system remained on Shellwind Drive at Sundew Road on October 15. Between October 23 and October 29, there were a total of 72 violations.

On Monday, October 28, a Security Officer found that someone had moved the Guardian Pro and placed “speed trap” signs on it. The Officer had performed a calibration test on the device at approximately 7:45 a.m. At approximately 8:50 a.m. the Guardian Pro system was observed to have been moved and suffered damage. A criminal report was filed with CCPD, and staff are reviewing photos from the attached trail camera in an attempt to identify the culprit. Furthermore, adjacent homeowners are being contacted to obtain video footage from home video systems or eyewitness reports. A reward is being offered for any information leading to the conviction of any parties involved.
