Chatham County Fire Department Offers New Service Request Forms Online

Chatham County Fire Department (CCFD) is excited to announce we have our community risk reduction page online (https://fire.chathamcountyga.gov/AboutUs/Services). This is a place where you can request non-emergency services from the fire department. There has been an uptick in people calling 911 for non-emergency services, and it is tying up critical resources across the county. Please do not call 911 unless it is an emergency. For any service request, visit https://fire.chathamcountyga.gov/AboutUs/Services.

Types of Services:

Smoke Detector Program

Three out of five fire deaths occur in homes without working smoke alarms. Smoke detectors are vital for saving lives, and proper installation and upkeep are key to reducing your risks. If you're unsure about the reliability of your smoke detectors, please click here and fill out the Service Request Form and select “Smoke Detector” as the request type. CCFD partners with the American Red Cross to offer up to two, free smoke detectors to those in need. Working smoke alarms are an important part of your home’s fire escape plan.

KnoxBox

Locked doors and secure entry points are essential for safeguarding your home, but they can obstruct first responders in emergencies. A KnoxBox offers a secure way to store keys outside your property, accessible only to emergency personnel. Installing a UL-listed Knox rapid access system on entry gates or at residential and commercial properties ensures swift access during emergencies. While CCFD does not purchase or install Knox boxes, we can help with adding, replacing, or removing keys from an existing box. If you have questions about Knox Box, please click here and fill out the Service Request Form and select “Knox Box” as the request type.

Home Safety Check

Your safety is our top priority. Our Home Safety Check Program helps educate and prepare community members for home emergencies. Are you confident your home meets fire safety standards? Would it ease your mind to know first responders are familiar with your home's layout and all occupants needs? This program offers a chance to reduce your emergency risk. To schedule a visit from CCFD team members who will perform a fire safety check and offer guidance on protecting yourself and your loved ones, please click here and fill out the Service Request Form and select “Home Safety Inspection” as the request type. Book your inspection today!

Special Event Requests

CCFD values our community connections and aims to enhance them by offering our services for special events centered on fire and life safety education. To arrange visits to our stations, have department members attend your event and offer CCFD fire safety, or  book apparatus standby, please click here and fill out the Service Request Form and select “Special Event” as the request type. This is a great opportunity for first responders to teach both children and adults about fire safety and emergency procedures.
