Get ready for exciting interactions with some awesome animals as Georgia Southern’s Center for Wildlife Education brings its raptors and reptiles show to The Landings on Saturday, October 26.

All are welcome to come get up-close looks at majestic hawks, tiny owls, and the Georgia Southern mascot, Freedom, the bald eagle, as well as a variety of fascinating reptiles. This very popular, special event gets underway at 1 p.m. at The Landings Community Park (Athletic Field) 600 Landings Way. This unique opportunity to view and learn about local birds of prey and other wildlife is presented by Skidaway Audubon. There is no fee for this family-friendly event. Cameras are permitted. However, pets and food are prohibited.

Since it opened in 1997, the Center for Wildlife Education has become one of the leading environmental education facilities in Georgia. Each year, more than 17,000 school children and residents participate in the Center’s education and outreach programs.

The mission of Skidaway Audubon is to educate and engage residents in programs designed to protect, conserve, and enhance the island’s natural resources. Membership in Friends of Skidaway Audubon (FOSA) helps fund programs that raise environmental awareness within the community. Family memberships begin at just $35.
