Public Works Working to Remove Fallen Trees (August 6 @ 8:30 a.m.)
This morning (August 6) Landings Association Public Works Crews are working to clear fallen trees, resulting from the effects of Tropical Storm Debby.
One tree, which already has been removed, was located on Landings Way South before Activity Drive. There is a second fallen tree on Priest Landing Drive, adjacent to the Landings Harbor Marina entrance that should be removed within the next hour. Please avoid this area, while crews work to clear the roadway.
For your safety, please remain indoors, if possible, until this weather event is over. There may be other areas in the community that need clearing of trees and debris, that have not yet been identified. Public Works and Landings Security currently are evaluating all areas of the island, including monitoring lagoon levels.
Chatham County Public Works has notified the Association that its team has been reduced to critical workforce, and today’s yard debris collection in The Landings will be rescheduled. The rescheduled date has not yet been determined. As an aside, some members have asked about the County’s Warning Sirens. Please click here to learn more about how the warning system works.
We will provide another update mid-morning today (August 6), after CEMA’s 9 a.m. briefing and The Landings Association’s Emergency Action Team (EAT) meetings.
