Atlanta Gas Light to Begin Four-Month-Long Project in The Landings in June

Beginning in June, Atlanta Gas Light will start working on increasing the size of the gas mains entering the community to help increase service reliability in our area. The project area begins at the four-way intersection of McWhorter Drive and Green Island Road, moves through the Main Gate along Tidewater Way, turns down Landings Way North, and ends at Bartram Road.

The project will take approximately four months to complete. Weather permitting, work hours will be Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 to 4 p.m.

Atlanta Gas Light will work with members to ensure access to homes during construction, and steps will be taken to minimize traffic disruptions. However, members are encouraged to plan ahead as some delays are expected. Please slow down, and be aware of crews as they will be working in the right-of-way.

Atlanta Gas Light will begin mobilizing and staging equipment for this work in the coming weeks. Please click here to read a communication from Atlanta Gas Light regarding this project.

On a separate note, some members have reached out to The Landings Association regarding the temporary stanchions that have been installed along Landings Way. The poles are an interim measure to help prevent wrong-way traffic as we transition from the construction detour back to the original traffic pattern. The long-term traffic solution focuses primarily on safety, connectivity, and aesthetics. Staff are working with the Board of Directors to determine if we can maintain the existing curblines while meeting the above requirements. Additionally, these wider lanes will come in handy should there be disruption during the Atlanta Gas Light construction work. Ultimately, this area will be further addressed after the Atlanta Gas Light work is completed.
