W2.9M Forklift Maintenance

Our large Wiggins Forklift has been getting some maintenance work done on it. They have replaced the tires and had new seals replaced on the main lift cylinder An email was sent out to our boaters to let them know that we would not have access to using that forklift for the larger boats for a few days.

Annual Dredging Project

Dredge operating hours will be Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Some weekend work hours may be necessary to stay on schedule. This year’s project is estimated to continue for a minimum of 30 days.

We will be relocating some boats to allow the dredge to access the slips. The movement of vessels to staging slips will be managed by the Marinas team, with my supervision. They will use the TLA workboat to tow vessels during the dredging project and will not operate vessels under their own power to staging slips during the dredging project. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know by sending me an email to (larrys@landings.org or 912-598-5502).

The contractor will be occupying the backside of the center dock to stage equipment and vessels during the project. Please avoid docking in this area during the duration of the dredging project.

All vessels should exercise extreme caution when navigating within the basin during the dredging project. The dredge pipeline will be clearly marked with buoys and obvious pipelines floating near the water’s surface. The location of the pipe will constantly move as the dredge works throughout the basin. Please, never attempt to cross the dredge pipe as damage will occur to your vessel and the pipeline.

Finally, if your boat is not occupying your wet slip during the dredging project, your slip may be used to temporarily stage vessels. If you plan to return with your boat during the dredging project, please contact Marinas Office Manager Jennifer Sabo (jennifers@landings.org or 912-598-1901) to avoid any issues.

Dry Rack Replacement – Phase Two

Roof and Rack has been making great progress assembling the two dry rack buildings this past week. At this point, we expect Phase Two to be complete no later than the first week of April 2024.

If your boat has been temporarily displaced during this project, please remember to give us as much notice as you can if you need your boat.  Wash rack space is minimal as well. We will do everything we can to accommodate requests. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Above Ground Fuel Tank

Guardian Fuel Technologies began installing the new aboveground fuel tank. The new fuel tank is scheduled to be completely installed and operational on April 4. Fueling operations will remain active during the installation of the tank and new underground fuel lines. We do expect that there will be a couple of days when fuel will not be available at The Harbor during the final steps of the project. An advisory notice of this interruption will be sent to all boaters as soon as we have a scheduled time.

Landings Harbor Dry Storage

We are currently in Phase Two of the Dry Rack Storage Project. We have temporarily relocated boats that were in the racks (K, L, & M) being replaced. All K, L, & M rack boat owners should call the Marina directly (912)598-1901 to schedule boat movements. For all other rack locations, Boatcloud reservation remains open, although timing has been adjusted to 15 minutes intervals to allow our staff appropriate time to access boats during the reconstruction activities in the dry storage area during the project.
