Suspicious Incidents

On Wednesday, February 28, Security responded to Bartram Road and Pettigrew Drive regarding a suspicious object hanging from a tree. Upon arrival, the Officer found a plastic baby in a manger hanging from a tree directly across from the Sparrow Field. The Officer was able to remove the object from the tree. The complainant advised that she believed the item belonged to a nearby resident. The Officer attempted to make contact with the resident but was unsuccessful. The item was taken to the Main Gate until the resident could be reached.

Security responded to a residence on Cabbage Crossing for a report of a suspicious incident on Tuesday, March 5. Unlicensed Golf Cart Operation

On Sunday, March 3, Security made contact with two teenage boys walking back to their golf cart, which was parked in the parking lot at the Main Gate. The Officer asked who was driving the cart, and one of the boys stated that he was 14 and knew he was not supposed to be driving the cart. The Officer spoke with the boy’s parents who advised that Security had followed them home on a previous occasion and requested the same be done again. Due to the distance, the parents were advised that following them was not an option and agreed to give them a ride home. Although this was apparently the second offense, a written warning was never issued. Therefore, no fine was issued for this offense.

Residents, guests, vendors, and employees are reminded to operate vehicles in a safe and responsible manner while remaining in compliance with traffic laws and community speed limits which are 30 MPH unless otherwise posted. Staff sent six courtesy notices for vehicles identified as traveling more than the posted speed limit.
