Annual Dredging Project

Dredge operating hours will be Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Some weekend work hours may be necessary to stay on schedule. This year’s project is estimated to continue for a minimum of 30 days.

We will be relocating some boats to allow the dredge to access the slips. The movement of vessels to staging slips will be managed by the Marinas team, under the supervision of Marinas Director Larry Sincoskie. They will use the TLA workboat to tow vessels during the dredging project, and will not operate vessels under their own power to staging slips during the dredging project. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Larry  (larrys@landings.org or 912-598-5502).

The contractor will be occupying the backside of the center dock to stage equipment and vessels during the project. Please avoid docking in this area during the duration of the dredging project.

All vessels should exercise extreme caution when navigating within the basin during the dredging project. The dredge pipeline will be clearly marked with buoys and obvious pipelines floating near the water’s surface. The location of the pipe will constantly move as the dredge works throughout the basin. Never attempt to cross the dredge pipe as damage will occur to your vessel and the pipeline.

Finally, if your boat is not occupying your wet slip during the dredging project, your slip may be used to temporarily stage vessels. If you plan to return with your boat during the dredging project, please contact Marinas Office Manager Jennifer Sabo (jennifers@landings.org or 912-598-1901) to avoid any issues.

Dry Rack Replacement – Phase Two

Uniformed Concrete put the finishing touches on the foundation for the two new rack structures. The builder was onsite to receive and offload the building materials Monday and Tuesday. We began assembling the first building  this week. We anticipate the new buildings will be completed during the first half of April 2024.

If your boat has been temporarily displaced during this project, please remember to give us as much notice as you can if you need your boat.  Wash rack space is minimal as well.  We will do everything we can to accommodate requests. We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Above Ground Fuel Tank

Guardian Fuel Technologies began installing the new underground fuel lines on  February 19. The new aboveground fuel tank is scheduled to be completely installed and operational on April 4, 2024. Fueling operations will remain active during the installation of the tank and new underground fuel lines. We expect that there will be a couple of days when fuel will not be available at The Harbor during the final steps of the project. An advisory notice of this interruption will be sent to all boaters as soon as we have a scheduled time.

The Landings Sailing Club

Learn To Sail Basic Sailing Course - Saturday, April 27, 2024.

There will be a Basic Sailing Course led by a certified SEAS (Society for the Education of American Sailors) instructor in collaboration with sailors from TLSC (The Landings Sailing Club). The class is intended to teach the basics of sailing to those age 21 and over who have never been on a sailboat, as well as those with some experience. The two-day intensive course includes interactive classroom instruction plus an on-the-water session to practice boat and sail-handling skills. The next scheduled class is for Saturday, April 27 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The water session will be held the following Tuesday or Wednesday based on the student and instructor availability, weather, and tides. The cost for the course is $100 per student, $25 of which will be refunded if you join TLSC within 30 days after joining as a full-time member. Every student must be a Landings resident. If you have questions, contact Angela Margolit directly (973-296-8011). To register, email Angela (amargolit@hotmail.com).

Landings Harbor Dry Storage

We are currently in Phase Two of the Dry Rack Storage Project. We have temporarily relocated boats that were in the racks (K, L, & M) being replaced. All K, L, & M rack boat owners should call the Marina directly (912)598-1901 to schedule boat movements. For all other rack locations, Boatcloud reservation remains open, although timing has been adjusted to 15 minutes intervals to allow our staff appropriate time to access boats during the reconstruction activities in the dry storage area during the project.

Delegal Creek Marina (DCM)

Operating hours  9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Daily

Those of you who lease a slip at Delegal Creek Marina may get an email from Michael (Michaelm@landings.org) in the next few days, pertaining to lease agreements and insurance information. Nothing has changed since the beginning of the year. We just need updated information on some of you. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email Michael.

Delegal Creek Channel Markers

Staff have been working with the US Coast Guard and a local marine contractor, Expert Marine, to replace two navigation markers in Delegal Creek. We plan to replace buoy #1 and #3 with day markers. Due to inclement weather and scheduling conflicts with the contractor, the new markers installation was delayed. The new pilings will be set for the #1 and #3 channel markers as soon as possible. The barge spudded down at the fuel dock will be used to set the markers in place to mark the deepest part of the entrance channel to the Marina.
