Suspicious Incidents
On Sunday, February 25, Security responded to a residence on McEachern Court for a report of an individual wearing a ski mask and driving an electric scooter. The person knocked on their back door and ran off. An Officer patrolled the surrounding areas with negative findings.
Security responded to Hedgewood Lane on Monday, February 26, for a report of a suspicious person. The resident advised that a man had knocked on her door and claimed to be an insurance adjuster needing papers signed for a recent accident. However, the resident stated she had not been in an accident. She provided a description of the man, and upon further investigation, Security was able to identify him as a process server. The resident was informed of the findings.
Unlicensed Golf Cart Operation
On Saturday, February 24, Security made contact with a golf cart in The Landings Association’s parking lot, which was driven by what appeared to be an unlicensed driver. The driver of the cart stated he was 13 years old. The Officer explained the rules to the young man and advised that he could not allow him to drive the cart home. The boy’s father was contacted and arrived on scene to take possession of the golf cart. The rules also were explained to the father. There was a previous warning issued for the same infraction, so a $100 citation was issued for operating a golf cart without a driver’s license.
Unlicensed Golf Cart Operation
On Saturday, February 17, Security responded to Westcross Road for a report of what appeared to be an unlicensed driver. An Officer located the cart in question and made contact with the driver, who stated she was 12 years old. The Officer explained the rules to the young lady and advised that he could not allow her to drive the cart home. A nearby resident who knew the young lady offered to allow her to park the cart in her driveway and drive her home. The Officer followed them to the girl’s home and contact was made with the girl’s father who also was advised of the rules regarding golf cart operation. No previous violations of a similar nature were discovered, and a warning was issued for the rule violation.
Traffic Safety
The Guardian Pro Traffic Camera remained on Shellwind Drive, just north of Moonbill Lane, until February 24. From February 21-24, the system recorded 54 violations with the highest record speed being 50 MPH. The traffic camera was moved to Yam Gandy Road near Brandeberry Road on February 24. From February 24-27, the system recorded five violations with the highest record speed being 42 MPH. Residents, guests, vendors, and employees are reminded to operate vehicles in a safe and responsible manner while remaining in compliance with traffic laws and community speed limits which are 30 MPH unless otherwise posted. Â Staff sent 55 courtesy notices for vehicles identified as traveling more than the posted speed limit.

TLA Rules and Regulations Enforcement
- Warnings were issued to vendors for no logos on RFID-equipped vehicles and no safety cones.
- The following fines were issued to vendors:
- Two $150 fines for no logos on an RFID-equipped vehicle and no safety cones.
- $100 for no logos on an RFID-equipped vehicle and unauthorized parking.
- $100 for abuse of an RFID.
- $50 for no safety cones.
- Warnings were issued to residents for placing yard debris on common property and early placement of yard debris.
- Warnings also were issued for operating a golf cart without a driver’s license and having an unregistered golf cart.
- A $100 fine was issued to a resident for repeated offenses of operating a golf cart without a driver’s license.
