Wetlands Regulatory Workshop

Greg Freeman, the department’s Natural Resources Manager, attended a Wetlands Regulatory Workshop held at the Coastal Georgia Botanical Gardens by the Georgia DNR last week. The workshop focused on the protection of our coastal wetlands (both salt and fresh), the procedures implemented for delineating these areas, and the regulatory processes for development and the sustainable use of our valuable natural resources.  Presentations were given by representatives of the Georgia DNR Coastal Resources Division, the US Fish and Wildlife Service, the National Marine Fisheries Service Division of NOAA, as well as various other resource and land management consultants.

APWA Equipment Show

Each year, the Georgia Chapter of The American Public Works Association (APWA) hosts a large Trade show for Public Works-related equipment, services, and various other products. The sole purpose of this event is to keep municipalities and private communities up to date on the best and latest equipment and services in our industry. This year’s trade show was held on Tuesday in Perry, Georgia. Several members of the department’s management team were in attendance.
