Juvenile-related Incident

Security responded to the areas of Highgate Lane and Riding Lane on Saturday, January 27, for a report of juveniles ringing doorbells and running away. The complainant provided two golf cart numbers, which were involved in the activity. Security located one of the carts involved and identified the driver of the cart as a 14-year-old juvenile. The young man’s parents were contacted and advised of the incident. A warning for unlicensed golf cart operation was issued. Although the second cart could not be located, Security identified the owners and contacted them regarding the incident. The parents of the juvenile involved in the incident stated they would speak with their son. No further incidents were reported.

Disturbing the Peace

On Sunday, January 28, at approximately 2 a.m., Security responded to Bray Lane for a report of a noise complaint. Upon arriving on scene, the responding Officer identified a residence where loud music and shouting could be heard in the backyard. The Officer made contact with the homeowner and asked that they keep the noise down. The resident was understanding and agreed to lower the noise. No further complaints were received.

Traffic Safety

The Guardian Pro Traffic Camera remained on Landings Way South near The Landings Association’s office until January 28. The system recorded 484 violations during that time. The highest speed recorded was 62 MPH. On January 28, the Guardian Pro Traffic Camera was relocated to Shellwind Drive just north of Moonbill Lane. From January 28 to January 30, the system recorded 69 violations with the highest record speed being 54 MPH. Residents, guest, vendors, and employees are reminded to operate vehicles in a safe and responsible manner while remaining in compliance with traffic laws and community speed limits, which are 30 MPH unless otherwise posted. Staff continue to work on sending courtesy notices for vehicles identified as traveling more than the posted speed limit.
