President's Update - January 24, 2024
The Landings Association (TLA) is already moving on work focused on maintaining our environment and infrastructure. Four recent activities include:
- Determining reasonable parking solutions in the Franklin Creek athletic area in partnership with The Landings Golf & Athletic Club
- Initiation of the Guardian Pro traffic radar capability to promote, influence, and encourage compliance with our traffic rules and regulations
- Begin the Landings Harbor dredging project this spring
- Committees, staff, and the Board will be discussing the priority and implementation of the Traffic Study Report’s recommendations.
I am meeting with selected TLA committees to charge them with goals specific to their expertise and interests for this coming year. Examples of these individual goals are:
- Security – enforcement policy and procedures for speeding on our roads and community paths
- Amenities Enhancement – make recommendations for the Landings Harbor development and consideration of sites for other public venues
- Strategic Water – develop a feasible five-year plan to mitigate the potential changes in water levels on our community
- Governance – complete the comprehensive review of the ARC guidelines and send to the community for comment
Our Board met this week for a two-day retreat. No, we did not meet in a warm sunny resort, but we convened in the community at one of our clubhouses! The outcomes of that meeting will be communicated to you in later updates.
Finally, our Board is composed of residents you have elected to determine and conduct activities in the best interests of our community owners. I appreciate the willingness of all our community members who give freely of their ideas to improve and maintain The Landings. Without your vision and ideas, we cannot successfully move our community forward. Thank you!
