TLA Encourages Members to Slow Down
We all know that life gets busy, and sometimes, we find ourselves rushing to get to a meeting or appointment. However, it only takes seconds for an accident to occur and change life as we know it forever.
Recently, your Association purchased a Guardian Pro traffic system that is equipped with speed detection equipment and a camera and began placing it in various areas of the community to identify speed violations. As of January 1, we began sending courtesy notices to individuals who exceeded the speed limit, which is 30 MPH unless otherwise posted. Our goal is to maintain safe streets and to improve the safety culture within our community.
We understand that mistakes happen and believe in allowing everyone to learn and grow and to refocus on safe driving habits. Before we begin the Association’s usual fining process, we will send courtesy notices to individuals found exceeding the speed. As mentioned earlier, the goal is to ensure a safer community, with hopes of avoiding fines altogether. However, “Super Speeders”, vehicles exceeding the speed limit by 25 MPH, may face immediate fines and suspension of membership privileges in the community.
Please do your part and slow down when driving, and kindly remind your guests and vendors to do the same. If you find yourself distracted and unaware of your vehicle’s speed, you may consider setting your speed control feature (if your vehicle is equipped) to the appropriate posted speed limit while operating a vehicle in the community.
We value your support and active participation in our overall safety culture and compliance with speed limits in our community. Thank you for being 100% accountable for your part in this safety equation.
