DUI

On Saturday, January 6, Security received a report of a white truck heading onto the island, which was swerving and not maintaining its lane. Officers responded toward The Village and observed a truck matching the description in the Thrive parking lot. Contact was made with the driver who stated he had an argument with his girlfriend and decided to go for a drive. Chatham County Police Department (CCPD) was contacted after it was reported that the driver had hit a parked car. Upon arrival, CCPD advised they were contacting Georgia State Patrol (GSP) to conduct a field sobriety test, which the driver failed. The driver was placed under arrest, and the vehicle was towed from the scene.

Suspicious Incident

On Friday, January 3, Security received a call from a resident regarding a suspicious incident at her residence. She stated that she woke up to her dogs growling at approximately 8:25 p.m. When she checked outside, there was a woman holding a bag and a flashlight standing on her back porch. The resident asked the woman why she was there, and she stated that she trying to give the bag to someone. The resident advised the woman that she was at the wrong house and asked her to leave. The woman complied and left the property. Security responded to the area to look for the woman but had negative results. There were no further reports regarding the woman.

Unescorted Cyclists   

Security made contact with cyclists in the community recently, and it was determined they were not escorted by a resident. In accordance with TLA's Board directive, cyclists within the community must be escorted by a resident sponsor.

Guardian Pro Traffic Camera

The Guardian Pro Traffic Camera was relocated to Landings Way North just north of Brooks Lane on December 28. The highest speed recorded was 48 MPH. As a reminder, the speed limit is 30 MPH unless otherwise indicated.

Effective January 1, 2024, staff began sending courtesy notices to individuals traveling at more than 10 MPH above the speed limit. For the week of January 1 to January 8, there were 11 notices sent.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Warnings and Citations

  • Warnings and citations were issued to vendors for not having logos on RFID-equipped vehicles and not having safety cones.
  • Warnings were issued to residents and guests for overnight parking in the street, having a covered vehicle, having a trailer, boat, or RV parked overnight, parking on an unpaved surface, and no dumpster permit.
