CCA Skidaway 2023 Oyster Roast and Pig Pickin’: December 3 at Landings Harbor Picnic Grounds

Hosted by the Coastal Conservation Association (CCA) Skidaway Chapter since 2013, our Oyster Roast and Pig Pickin’ has become a much-anticipated annual event for island residents and guests.

“This is a true, down home, lip-smacking cookout featuring a selection of steamed oysters, mouthwatering steamed clams, and crab legs,” notes longtime CCA member and former CCA Georgia Board President Tom Rood. “For BBQ fans, there will be mounds of pulled pork and delicious, homemade sides along with everyone getting a ‘stab’ at pickin’ a beautifully roasted whole hog. Beer, wine, and soft drinks are included as part of your admission.       

In addition to the great food, the event, which is from 2 to 4 p.m., will include the giveaway of numerous door prizes and the sale of last minute CCA Georgia statewide golf cart raffle tickets, before we pick the winning ticket for that raffle. The golf cart will be there for the lucky winner to drive it away!

Once again, we are using our online ccaskidaway.org registration process for this event. If you are not a member of CCA Skidaway, prices are $150 for couples and $80 for individual tickets. CCA Member prices are $140 per couple and $75 for individual tickets.

As in previous years, our Oyster Roast and Pig Pickin’ event is limited to the first 250 registrants. Last year’s event was a sellout, so we encourage you to buy your tickets without delay.

All funds raised at this event go to support CCA GA’s mission not only to conserve aquatic habitats, but also serve as an advocate for the recreational angler and promote a range of educational outreach.
