Skidaway Volunteer Fire Recruitment Drive 

The volunteer division (Skidaway Fire) will hold a recruitment drive in partnership with the Kiwanis Club of Skidaway’s Chili Cook-off on November 4 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., at Landings Community Park (600 Landings Way). A second recruitment event will be held November 5 from 3 to 5 p.m. at Skidaway Island Methodist Church’s Fall Festival (54 Diamond Causeway). There will be an engine, command vehicle, and a ladder truck for all to explore at both events.   

We are looking for motivated, physically fit, and community-minded individuals to join our volunteer ranks. If you are looking to give back to your community in a significant way, becoming a volunteer firefighter might be the answer. No experience is required. We will provide all the training and equipment.  

As a volunteer firefighter with us, you also qualify for the State of Georgia Firefighter pension and on everyone’s favorite topic list, fire fees -- volunteer firefighters in good standing have their fee waived!
