On the Security Scene
Emergency Service
On October 10, 911 Dispatch for Chatham Emergency Services (CES) transitioned to the Chatham County Dispatch Center. TLA continues to work with County officials regarding being notified of medical emergencies in our community. Upon being notified of an emergency, TLA is testing a Mass Notification System to then alert Skidaway Island First Responders.
Theft
On October 17, The Landings received a call from a resident, regarding mail being stolen from USPS Drop boxes on the Island. Theft from USPS drop boxes and mailboxes was reported by TLA in October 2022. A Secret Service agent confirmed these crimes continue not only in our local area, but nationwide. Online bill payment is an option as well as taking your mail directly to postal centers. The local USPS Postal Inspector should be notified immediately as well as your financial institution of any fraud or suspicious activity.
