TLA Public Works to Assist Georgia Department of Agriculture with Beehive Placement

In cooperation with the Georgia Department of Agriculture (GDA), The Landings Association's (TLA) Public Works Department will temporarily place a beehive near Sunset Park starting the week of October 16. The beehive will contain standard, docile honeybees. The intent of this project is to trap invasive Asian Hornets that the GDA recently discovered near our area. The trapped bees will be used to locate and destroy the hornets' hive, which is believed to be located in the Marsh west of Skidaway Island. The hive will be clearly marked, please refrain from disturbing it in any way.
