TLA Public Works to Assist Georgia Department of Agriculture with Beehive Placement
In cooperation with the Georgia Department of Agriculture (GDA), The Landings Association's (TLA) Public Works DepartmentĀ will temporarily place a beehive near Sunset Park startingĀ the week of October 16. TheĀ beehive will contain standard, docile honeybees. The intent of this project isĀ to trap invasive Asian Hornets that the GDAĀ recently discovered near our area. The trapped beesĀ will be used to locate and destroy the hornets' hive, which is believed to be located in the Marsh west of Skidaway Island. The hiveĀ will be clearly marked, please refrain from disturbing it in any way.
