Holiday Bow Sales Benefit Beautification on Skidaway Island

It’s that time of year again when the Landing’s Garden Club hosts its fabulous Holiday Bow Sale! The bows are extra large, wired, handmade by Garden Club members and cost only $15 and $20 each ($25 for the limited edition Winslet). All proceeds aid the Garden Club’s Skidaway Island conservation and beautification efforts.

Are you aware that the Garden Club takes charge of adorning all the entrance gates at the Landings during the holiday season? Did you know this all-volunteer club also designs and plants the pots at the Franklin Creek Tennis Center? The Garden Club is responsible for much of the floral splendor you see around The Landings, and their sole annual fundraiser, the holiday bow sale, plays a pivotal role in financing these community beautification projects. In addition, the Garden Club also donates time and money to other worthy efforts,  past recipients have included Skidaway Audubon, Sparrow Field, and the Children’s Garden at Skidaway Farms.

Once again, their popular red velvet bows with various colored trims are back, as well as the striking blue and silver bows for Hannukah. This year, the Garden Club is introducing a limited edition Winslet bow with a holly motif in red, green, and gold sparkle. Rounding out the offering this year is a handsome red, green, black, and gold plaid bow and a sparkly gold glitter bow.

Put one on your mailbox or your door wreath. How about your golf cart?! Garden Club members will sell bows at The Village in front of the fountain from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. beginning Monday, November 6. Cash and Checks are accepted. Stop by early for the best selection, and we’ll help you choose the perfect pattern for your holiday decorating.
