Labor Day is almost here!

As we approach the final two weeks of our official summer boating season, we would like to remind everyone that our hours will be returning to normal beginning Tuesday, September 5. At that time Landings Harbor will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Delegal Creek Marina's hours will be  9 a.m. to 5 p.m. But, we will maintain our summer hours through Labor Day. Please start planning for your holiday weekend boating trips. We are expecting it to be a busy time at the marina due to the holiday, and our summer staff members have all gone back to school. Please be patient with our core team members as we get through these final weeks of extended hours. The Landings Sailing Club will be having their Beer Can Race that Friday afternoon, September 1. Several sailboats plan to be launched around 4 to 4:30 p.m. and they return around 5:45 p.m.. Keep this in mind if you decide you want to get a jumpstart on the weekend as these Friday afternoons can get very busy. Please use the BoatCloud App to request boat movements.

Landings Harbor Pier

The Landings Harbor Pier has been re-opened! The Public Works crew worked hard to update this resident-favorite amenity. We thank everyone for their patience while this was completed. You may now enjoy walks along the pier, fish on the outer side, and put out your crab traps. We just ask that you clean up after yourself so others can enjoy it as well.

Mike Bousquet’s Retirement Party – Tuesday, September 12th

We are getting ready to celebrate Mike Bousquet’s retirement with his Landings friends and family. This will take place Tuesday, September 12 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Landings Harbor. We will be hosting a potluck and we would like to invite everyone to join in on the fun. Carey Hilliard’s will be bringing their famous chicken fingers and The Landings Sailing Club will be providing the cake. If able, please bring a favorite dish of yours to share with others. Our goal is to let Mike know what an impact he has had on our Landings Marina family over the years. Come prepared to share your best “Mike, Mike, Mike” story and well wishes for our honoree! Contact Jen Sabo with any questions and to RSVP (jennifers@landings.org or 912-598-5503).

Landings Harbor Store

The store got a refresh this week. We are waiting some new slatwall bars/shelf brackets to come in to finish it completely. The store is open to everyone. We have custom apparel and merchandise that can only be found here. We also have a fully stocked ice cream freezer full of your favorite Leopold’s flavors and various novelty treats. This weekend is going to be a hot one! Come cool off with a cold drink, beer or wine. We also have Sunboy spiked coconut water beverages that everyone is raving about.

The Landings Sailing Club

A very popular event that our sailors look forward to each year is the Low Country Hook Ocean Race, organized by the Chatham Sailing Club and The South Carolina Yacht Club. This will be taking place this Saturday, August 26. The race always ends here at Landings Harbor where the sailors celebrate sharing in the experience and crown the winners. Our J/24, Bonnie Blue, displays Hook Race Brag Flags from first place finishes in 2020 and 2021. Three J/24’s will be participating this year. They are looking forward to adding more flags from this year’s race!

Angela Margolit caught up with Mike Rouzee at Shelter Island Yacht Club in New York. And the sailors enjoy honing their skills and enjoying the beautiful summer days out on the water throughout the week.

Landings Harbor Storage

Dry, wet, and jet ski storage are all full. We will continue to maintain all wait lists. We are beginning to prepare for Phase 2 of the Dry Rack Storage Project that will commence at the end of this year, beginning of next. To do so, we need to plan on where to place the boats that are currently in the rack that will be temporarily displaced.
