L.O.V.E. Seeks New Mentors

Local Outreach Volunteer Educator (L.O.V.E.) mentors returned to in-person, one-on-one mentoring last year. The program was very successful and the schools have asked us for more mentors this year.

L.O.V.E. mentors focus on early elementary students in Title 1 schools who need extra help in reading or math; many thrive with the one-on-one support a mentor provides. We are looking for dedicated men and women willing to give an hour each week to help a child. No prior experience is required, just a desire to help these young people succeed in school and in life.  Support and training are provided by experienced mentors.

For more information about L.O.V.E. and how you might become a mentor, visit our website www.lovementors.org. There will be an Information workshop at 4 p.m. on Monday, September 25 at Skidaway Island Methodist Church for new mentors, as well as those who just want to learn more about the program. Please join us.
