Juvenile Complaint

On June 1, Landings Security responded to Henry Clay Court regarding a complaint of juveniles throwing rocks at an alligator in a lagoon while fishing. The juveniles became confrontational with the residents in the area and were directed to leave and fish at a different location.

Motor Vehicle Crash (MVC)

On June 1, Landings Security responded to and managed a MVC at the intersection of Landings Way North and Priest Landing Drive, involving a motor vehicle and a bicycle. Chatham County Police Department (CCPD), and Chatham Emergency Services (CES) were notified and responded. Although no major damage was sustained to the vehicle or bicycle, an injury was reported by the cyclist requiring medical treatment on scene. CCPD determined that the bicyclist was at fault and issued him a citation.

Motor Vehicle vs. Pedestrian

On June 1, Landings Security responded to and managed a hit-and-run incident involving a pedestrian at the intersection of Tidewater Way and Causton Place. The pedestrian was a landscaper who was using a blower when a vehicle struck his elbow as it passed by. The vehicle was described as a black Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV). An off duty CES Firefighter was on scene and evaluated the pedestrian’s elbow. CCPD and CES were not notified at the pedestrian’s request.

Drag Racing

On June 2, Landings Security responded to a report of what sounded like vehicles drag racing from the Oakridge neighborhood. Security Officers responded to the area of Green Island Road and McWhorter Drive. No signs or sounds of drag racing in the area were noticed. A Security Officer responded to the area of Butterbean Beach and observed a large gathering of cars and people in the area. Chatham County Police Department (CCPD) Officers were seen leaving Butterbean Beach and have been asked to provide additional patrols to monitor these gatherings for illegal activities, including potential drag racing. 

Ding Dong Ditch

On June 5, Landings Security was notified of juveniles ringing the doorbell and running away. The incident occurred on Wakefield Place. Security did not locate any juveniles in the area or surrounding neighborhood.

Warnings and Citations

  • Warnings and fines were issued to vendors for not displaying logos on RFID-equipped vehicles and/or for not using safety cones.
  • A warning was issued to a resident for placing dry trash curbside prior to 24 hours of pickup.
  • A warning was issued for a full construction dumpster.
  • A warning was issued for an unlicensed golf cart driver.
