CCA Hosts Honor Students From Oglethorpe Charter School

CCA launched the first of 10 scheduled spring and summer Kids' Fishing Events recently, hosting a group of honor students from Oglethorpe Charter School.

It was difficult to determine who had more fun…the students and teachers or the CCA volunteers. Although the event started off a little slow, the fish soon began to respond, and by the end of the morning the kids had landed about 60 nice-sized bluegills and several turtles. Everyone caught at least one fish. For many of the students it was their first fishing experience.

This event was a “warmup” for our Annual Kids' Fishing Derby scheduled for Saturday, May 27, where we expect more than kids from The Landings plus their parents and grandparents. If you’re interested in volunteering to help on May 27, please register on our webiste (www.ccskidaway.org).
