Theft 

On March 30, Landings Security took a report of a stolen windshield from an E-Z-GO® ELiTE™ golf cart. The golf cart was parked in the golf cart parking area of the Deer Creek Clubhouse. Someone entered the parking area and removed the windshield from the golf cart. If anyone recalls witnessing this incident, please call The Landings Golf & Athletic Club’s Loss Prevention staff (912-598-2500). Chatham County Police Department (CCPD) was not notified. 

 

On April 8, Landings Security responded to a reported theft of a large, tan, ceramic flowerpot with flowers from a front porch on Oyster Reef Road. CCPD was not notified. 

On April 10, Landings Security responded to a reported theft of a backpack-style blower from a lawn care company vehicle parked on Marsh Tower Lane. CCPD was notified. 

Vandalism 

On April 11, Landings Security responded to a report of vandalism. Individuals used orange spray paint and painted several obscene pictures on the pumping station near Westcross Road and Waterside Road. The incident occurred sometime overnight, and no suspects have been identified. CCPD was not notified. 

CEMA Hurricane Conference 

TLA’s General Manager, Karl Stephens, and Security Director, Tim Cook, attended the annual Hurricane Conference hosted by Chatham Emergency Management Agency (CEMA). Residents and staff are reminded to update their emergency plan for the upcoming Hurricane Season, which begins on June 1 and ends on November 30. 

Warnings and Citations 

  • Warnings and fines were issued to vendors for not displaying logos on RFID-equipped vehicles and/or for not using safety cones. 
  • Warnings were issued to residents for driving golf carts in no cart zones. 
  • A citation was issued to a resident for a dog at large. 
  • A warning was issued to a resident for having a covered vehicle in their driveway. 
  • Warnings were issued to residents for overnight parking of vehicles on the street. 
  • A warning was issued to a resident for a construction vehicle parked in driveway overnight.
