Choral Music Concert: April 22

On Saturday April 22, at 7 p.m., Christ Church (28, Bull Street) will feature the new Savannah-based professional chamber choir Musica Atlantica, under the direction of George Fergus, offering Songs of Deliverance, a concert of choral music about faith, hope, and perseverance.

There will be works by Herbert Howells, Mari Valverde, Trevor Weston, and others, including Hubert Parry’s masterpiece set of six motets, Songs of Farewell. The concert is free and open to the public. There will be a reception following the concert.

Musica Atlantica is a new Savannah-based professional choral ensemble in residence at Christ Church. Its mission is to uphold and promote contemporary choral works by composers from the entire breadth of the choral tradition, alongside established landmarks in the repertoire.
