The Village Library gratefully accepts book donations from members of the community. The Library is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation that does not receive government funds and is run entirely by volunteers. All proceeds from the sale of donated books are used to operate the Library.

The Library accepts small donations (e.g., individual books or one small bag or box of books) delivered to the front desk during business hours, Tuesdays through Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Large donations may be delivered to the Library on Saturdays between 10 a.m. and noon. For estate donations, please make an appointment by calling the Library (912-598-1183).

Please note the following items that are NOT accepted. The inclusion of these items in a donation costs the Library funds, as it must pay to dispose of these items that cannot be sold.

  • Damaged books, including books missing covers or pages; loose bindings; ripped pages; disintegrating pages; covers damaged by exposure to heat and sun; water-damaged and moldy books
  • Textbooks and reference books, including encyclopedias, dictionaries, bibliographies, almanacs, directories, atlases, and handbooks
  • Informational books, including technological, tax, investment, medical, educational, and legal books
  • Condensed or abridged materials
  • Magazines of any sort
  • Cassette tapes and VHS tapes

The Library thanks you for your donations, your abidance to the donation policy, and your patronage.
