Emergency Road Work on Westcross Road

Bennett Paving performed an emergency road repair on the inbound lane of Westcross Road between Sparnel Road and Tarrow Ridge Road on Thursday. A large pothole formed overnight which required immediate repair to prevent damage to residential and guest vehicles traveling in this area.

Preparation for Turf Transition at Deer Creek and Oakridge Gates

Last year, TLA entered a three-year contract with BrightView to continue the landscape services for the Association for 2022-2024. During the renegotiation process, BrightView and TLA reached an agreement that included a 0% increase for the next three years. TLA was also able to negotiate an addition to the contract which includes transitioning the turf at all gates to zoysia. The turf transition schedule is as follows: Main Gate and North Gate (Completed in 2022), Oakridge Gate and Deer Creek Village Gate (2023), and Moon River Gate, Marsh View Gate, and Deer Creek Auto Gate (2024).

In preparation for the turf transition, staff have begun tree maintenance in these areas to promote a healthier tree canopy along with opening up the understory. The turf transitions are scheduled for April.

Marsh Outfall Cleanout

BrightView continued working on the annual maintenance on the marsh outfall structures along Landings Way South this week. As a reminder, these sumps accumulate sand, silt, leaves and other organic material throughout the year and require maintenance to allow for proper drainage into the marsh. All materials removed from the structure are placed on the maintenance easement adjacent to the structure to dry. Once the piles are dry (1-3 weeks depending on weather patterns), BrightView will remove the material from the site.

2023 Road Replacement Project

Bennett Paving completed paving Breakfast Court, Nathanael Lane, and Gumtree Lane this week and are scheduled to start the first phase of milling and paving of Yam Gandy Road next week. Absolute Concrete continued repairing damaged curbing on Yam Gandy Road this week and will progress to Wiley Bottom Road next week. All work is being conducted in conjunction with the annual road repair project.
