Phase 1 of the Resurfacing of Yam Gandy Road begins Monday (February 20)

Thu, 02/16/2023

Beginning Monday (February 20), Bennett Paving will start Phase 1 of the resurfacing (milling and paving) of Yam Gandy Road.  Phase 1 includes the resurfacing of Yam Gandy Road from Landings Way South (north entrance) to Southerland Road (North Entrance). Barring any weather, plant, or mechanical delays, Phase 1 is anticipated to be completed in six days.

During this time, access will be limited. However local vehicular traffic (e.g., residents, mail delivery, and emergency vehicles) will be permitted to drive on the milled surface until the paving process begins. Once paving begins, access will be restricted to all vehicles depending on the progression of the work.

Please use the following detours during Phase 1:

  • Residents who live on Southerland Road will use the south exit to Yam Gandy to enter and exit to Landings Way South. The north exit to Southerland Road will be closed during Phase 1.
  • Residents who live on Marsh Elder Lane, Heathmuir Way, Inigo Jones Lane, Poor Clare’s Lane, Laurel Hill Lane, Sandsfield Way, Lakewood Retreat, and Lakewood Court will use Yam Gandy South to exit and enter.
  • Residents who live between Southerland Road North and Landings Way South should use Brandenberry Road to Tidewater Way to enter and exit.
  • Residents who live on Morning Marsh Road or connecting roads will use Brandenberry Road to Tidewater Way to enter and exit.

Please inform your landscape contractors, visitors, delivery services, and others of this project as they may be delayed or denied entry depending on the progression of the work. During the paving portion of the project, please make sure your irrigation systems are turned off.

Thank you in advance for your patience and support during this project as we continue to improve the roads and infrastructure throughout the community. Please email pwmanagers@landings.org with any questions or concerns.
