Deer Creek Automatic Gate Maintenance

On December 13, the Deer Creek Automatic Gate (located off McWhorter Drive) was closed for maintenance. Staff, in conjunction with our contractor, replaced the concrete slab located beneath the sliding gate. Once the concrete is cured, the gate will reopen to vehicular traffic.

Road Tree Pruning Program – Palmetto

Staff continued to work on the Annual Road Cutback program. This program is completed operationally and encompasses lifting the canopies up over the roadways to provide proper heights for emergency vehicles and other large vehicles within the community. Staff are currently working in the Palmetto phase of the community.

Lagoon Cutbacks – Palmetto

The Lagoon Crew began working on lagoon cutbacks in the Palmetto phase of the community this week. As a reminder, this program is completed operationally and encompasses the uplifting of vegetation overhanging the lagoons along with the removal of woody and new growth around the lagoon banks. Not only does this improve the aesthetics of the lagoon, but it also allows adequate access for lagoon personnel to perform their maintenance cycles.

Community Path Cutbacks - Marshwood and Deer Creek

The community path cutback program is completed annually as part of our landscape contract with BrightView Landscapes. This program encompasses cutting back vegetation off (generally 3 feet) and overhanging of the community path (generally 7 feet). BrightView removes a “year’s worth” of growth so that the path stays clear until the following year, while helping increase the line of sight for those traveling on community paths. BrightView completed community path cutbacks in the Deer Creek and Marshwood sections of the community.
