Tropical Storm Nicole Update (November 10 @ 10 a.m.)

Thu, 11/10/2022

Chatham Emergency Management Agency (CEMA) continues to track Tropical Storm Nicole today (November 10). The storm touched down in Florida early this morning as a Category 1 Hurricane. However, it has since lost strength and is again classified as a Tropical Storm.

At its morning briefing, CEMA shared that the storm is traveling north-northwest at approximately 14 MPH. It is expected to reach our area late today, with effects remaining until tomorrow (November 11). We can expect rain of up to three inches and wind gusts of up to 35 MPH in some areas. There also is the potential for tornados, which may occur with little to no warning.

CEMA remains in the Opcon 3 monitoring phase for this storm. However, it has suspended daily briefings unless conditions change for this weather event.
