AARP Tax-Aide Program Needs Volunteers. Interested residents are invited to attend a training session in December and January Sessions will be held at Chatham SW Library and Bull Street Library.

Tax preparation starts February 1, for 10 weeks. Volunteer hours and days are flexible.This program provides free tax preparation for low to moderate income families, as well as the elderly and persons with disabilities. AARP Tax-Aide saves underserved individuals/families millions in tax preparation fees and helps tax payers claim millions in refunds, which can be used to reduce poverty. Tax preparers will be trained to become IRS Certified. Volunteers also are needed to help with intake/front desk duties.
