Smoke Update – September 19 @ 8:30 a.m.

You may notice heavy smoke near the Evergreen Chipping facility this morning (Monday, September 19). The smoke is caused by a pile of chips that recently caught fire but has been contained. However, the pile is still smoldering.
Evergreen staff, Chatham Emergency Services, and South Coast Logging are monitoring the situation 24/7 to ensure the active area stays isolated.
