An article in the July 23, 1978, Savannah Morning News/Evening Press highlighted The Landings and called it, “Chatham County's 20th Century Garden of Eden.”  Mentioned were the security gate, manned twenty-four hours a day by uniformed guards, the golf course, tennis courts, swimming pool, clubhouse, marina and miles of walking and bike paths. Also, mentioned were that the electric and telephone lines are all hidden underground.

The above Golden Nugget is from V.E. Kelly’s book, A Short History of Skidaway Island.
