Summer Sunset Service at Delegal Creek Marina
Continuing its tradition of hosting informal outdoor Easter Sunrise and summer Sunset Services, Skidaway Community Church (SCC) once again is pleased to invite Island friends, neighbors, and visitors to celebrate the seasonal beauty of our island at a Sunset Service on Sunday evening, July 17.
Beginning at 7:45 p.m. at Delegal Creek Marina, the 2022 Sunset Service will incorporate familiar and beloved musical selections led by Reverend Ed Ayers. Returning for a second year, the classically trained musician enjoys sharing his talents on a variety of instruments, as well as engaging participants in interactive sing-alongs.
Reverend Jon Hauerwas, pastor at Skidaway Community Church, will share thoughtful meditations. Born in Alabama and raised in South Carolina, Hauerwas joined SCC at the end of 2021. A graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary, he and his wife, Kara, and sons, Liam and Nathan, look forward to sharing a casual evening service with you on the 17th.
Arrive by golf cart, car, boat, motorcycle, bike, on foot, or another transport of choice, and bring a chair.
