Children's Book Event at The Village Library

By Nicole Tifverman
Public Information Officer, The Village Library

On Saturday, June 18, from 10 am to noon, New York Times bestselling author Angela May will stop by The Village Library to celebrate the release of her new middle-grade book, Search for Treasure, co-written with award-winning and bestselling novelist Mary Alice Monroe. This is a sequel to their bestselling book, The Islanders. Angela will share stories about the wild places and animals that inspired Search for Treasure and lead a fun do-it-yourself nature journal project, inspired by the book, that kids can take home to use all summer long. Signed copies of Search for Treasure will be available at the Library. The target audience is 8 to 12 years old, but readers of all ages are welcome to attend. Email Brenda Day (springmarsh@aol.com) with any questions.

Also, don’t forget to mark your calendars for our “Bag of Books” sales on the last Saturday of each month. Upcoming dates are June 25, July 30, and August 27. On these days, you can purchase a bag at the library for $10 and fill it with the books of your choice from our sales wall. For an extra $5, you can purchase a reusable Village Library tote, which will hold even more books.
