A new bench at the Sparrow Field Pollinator Garden will be dedicated to Skidaway Audubon’s longtime Bottle Brigade Leader Caryl Warner on Wednesday, April 27, at 11 a.m. All are welcomed to attend this event.

In addition to heading up the litter patrol for many years, Warner was instrumental in the establishment of the garden berm, located off Bartram Road, near the northern end of Pettigrew Drive. The property serves as a sort of outdoor classroom for Master Gardeners, photographers, birders and other nature enthusiasts, and helps residents learn what thrives on the island, all while increasing habitat for butterflies and other essential pollinators.

Warner also has been active in Neighbors Helping Neighbors, the CCA, and was an initial supporter of the construction of Skidaway Farms. A Main Gate volunteer, he was The Landings Association Volunteer of the Year in 2009.

“Please take a moment to stop by Sparrow Field, observe the beauty of the garden, and thank Caryl for all he has done for the community,” said Audubon President Dawn Cordo.
