Landings Harbor Marina

It was a gorgeous weekend, and our boaters came out to enjoy it!  We saw a significant increase in boat movements on Saturday and Sunday. Staff kept busy with several deluxe boat washes and getting boats on and off trailers for servicing.

We will start introducing our Marinas team members each week so that you will have names to go along with the faces you see all the time. This is Dylan Bedortha. He has been a part of our team since December 2019. He currently is the Dockmaster at Landings Harbor although he always willingly helps us out at Delegal Creek Marina when needed. Dylan has begun training on the forklift, and we look forward to him adding forklift operator to the many caps he wears this summer. Dylan is from Pittsburgh and cheers on all their sports teams. He graduated from University of Rhode Island, plays lacrosse, loves to wear crazy socks, and has a black cat named JuJu. He got married this February to his beautiful wife Shannon. Dylan is a valued and integral part of our team.

Georgia Clean Marina Program

Speaking of Dylan, he attended a meeting on Tuesday, March 8 for the Georgia Clean Marina Program in Brunswick, Georgia. The Coastal Resources Division of Georgia DNR and UGA Sea Grant are working on implementing this Statewide program. Attendees reviewed the certification checklist and steps that must be completed to have a marina certified as a Georgia Clean Marina. The goal is to get this program up and running this summer. We will apply to become certified and once accepted into the program, make a pledge to meet the necessary requirements within a year. Dylan will continue to be our representative and take an active role in assuring each of our Marinas is certified as a Georgia Clean Marina.

Free Vessel Safety Checks

The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary is offering FREE vessel safety checks on Sunday, March 20 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. You can make a boat movement request through the BoatCloud App to have your boat placed on a wash rack for inspection. Dredging Project

Dolan Yacht Service, Inc. continues with the dredging project at Landings Harbor. The rental pump was brought onsite to complete the dredging project. The electric booster pump has been taken out of service for this year’s project due to unavailable repair parts. Dredging hours are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Some weekend work hours may be necessary to complete the project.

The slim can 50^th Anniversary koozies have arrived! Traditional size koozies will be arriving shortly. If you need a touch of green to wear this upcoming week, come by and checkout our cotton terry sweatshirt.

Landings Sailing Club

The Geechee Sailing Club is the proud host of the 43^rd Annual St. Patrick's Regatta. Several Landings Sailing Club members are participating. The event is scheduled for March 19 and 20.

The Landings Sailing Club will be offering another Basic Sailing Course in April. The two-day, intensive course includes interactive classroom instruction that will be held Saturday, April 23 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The water session will be held the following Sunday, Tuesday, or Wednesday based on student and instructor availability, weather, and tides. Class size is limited to 10. There still are some slots remaining. The cost is $100 per student, and $25 will be refunded if you join TLSC within 30 days. You must be a Landings resident to attend. Dry Storage

The Landings Harbor Marina dry, wet, and jet ski storage is at full capacity. We continue to maintain and fill openings from the wait list.

Delegal Creek Marina

The unattended crab traps have been pulled from the water. Crabbers are required to check and clear traps every 24-hours per State regulations. There was a single JBL earbud, and a pair of Ray Ban sunglasses found this week at Delegal Creek Marina. They can be retrieved from the Harbor Master's office at the end of the A dock.
