Theft

Security responded to a cart path near Riding Lane for a report of an abandoned golf cart partially blocking the path on Thursday, November 25. The owner of the cart was identified by the cart registration number. The owners were contacted and stated they were unaware the cart was missing. They informed officers that the cart was taken from the backyard the previous evening after dark. Upon examining the cart, the owners found no damages but reported that a Bluetooth speaker valued at approximately $100 was missing. The owners did not want to report the incident to CCPD, and no suspects were identified.

Vehicle vs. Tree Accident

On Tuesday, November 30, Security responded to the intersection of Candlewick Lane and Brandenberry Road for a report of an accident. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with a commercial vendor, who stated he was a traveling along Brandenberry Road and noticed a red sedan headed towards him on the opposite side of the road. The vehicle allegedly started to veer into his lane, so he swerved to miss it, and in doing so, he struck a tree on the side of the road. He advised that the car continued on without stopping. The vendor’s vehicle sustained significant damage. Fortunately, the man was uninjured. He contacted his supervisor and stated he would wait at the scene for him to arrive.

Suspicious Incidents

On Wednesday, November 24, Security responded to a residence on Tidewater Way for a report of a suspicious person. The resident reported seeing someone on video camera walking around her home. Officers performed a premise check and found all doors and windows secure. They did notice a package by the front door. The resident was notified of their findings. Additional patrols were performed at the resident’s request.

Security responded to the Marsh Tower on Thursday, November 25, for a suspicious incident. A resident who lived near the Marsh Tower reported hearing noise coming from the area. An officer checked the area and did not find anyone in the area and suspicious or unusual noises were not heard by the Officer. No additional incidents were reported.
