Landings Harbor Marina

The weather has been up and down this past week and boaters took advantage of some of the warm afternoons. Other days were very chilly and blustery making it incredibly quiet at the marina. There was a vessel discovered Tuesday morning that had broken free from its anchor and drifted just outside our marina and grounded in the marsh. We contacted the Coast Guard, and they were able to reach out to the owners. The owners came by Tuesday afternoon to assess the situation and had it towed away on Wednesday morning. They were thankful to us for instigating the initial contact.

Men’s Urinal Repair

Henry Plumbing was contacted to determine why our urinal kept backing up. After an initial visit, they replaced a section of the drain line in the wall on Wednesday, November 24. Staff will patch the access hole in the wall and then the contractor will return to re-install the urinal.

Delegal Creek Marina

This week at Delegal Creek Marina, the cold weather and high winds have slowed boating activity considerably. The staff completed a boat audit and updated some boat lengths in the system. The dockmaster also completed an evaluation of the marina to flag areas that would need to be improved on to reach the status of a certified "Clean Marina". The Clean Marina program in Georgia is making a comeback and both marinas will be striving to make improvements to reach the Clean Marina status. Transient boating traffic has started to slow down as the holidays approach. We hope to see some familiar faces in the spring as the snow-birds head back North for the warmer months.
