VITA Seeks Volunteers

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA) is seeking volunteers to help residents in Savannah and neighboring cities (e.g., Pembroke, Richmond Hill, and Hinesville) with free tax preparation.

Work begins in January and the hours are flexible. No experience is necessary and training will be provided via two training sessions. The first session will begin on November 30, 2021, and the second session starts on January 4, 2022.

To volunteer or for more information, please contact Tiffany Carter (912-447-5577 or tcarter@niacdc.org).

Vita provides free tax preparation for low-income individuals, the elderly, persons with disabilities, limited English-speaking taxpayers, and individuals living in rural counties. VITA saves the underserved individuals/families millions in tax preparation fees and helps taxpayers claim millions in refunds, which can be used to reduce poverty.
