This past weekend we experienced gale force winds and small craft advisories along with a surged king tide. This recent king tide made it to the top five highest water recorded in the last 80 years in Savannah.  A portion of the sea wall that had just been fixed did suffer some damage from the storm and will be repaired. Our team checked on the boats and found a couple that had broken some of their dock lines. Please be sure you secure your boat extra tightly when we are expecting stormy weather to avoid unnecessary damage from the active water surges.

Our gas pumps electrical wiring took a hit from the storm surge. James Evans, of Evans Electric, arrived promptly and discovered wiring that required replacement by the shut off valves and in the breaker box. We have one of the two gas pumps operating again along with the diesel. We will continue to work to get all pumps operating.

Marina Ship’s Store

These new solar shirts have arrived in store! The men’s version has a fishing boat on it and the ladies has sailboats. I have also, finally, received the women’s version of the Skidaway Island map shirt! I cannot reiterate enough that I will not be able to get replenishment of most items in the store before the holidays. Lead times are going into January and February for most of our vendors now. Please shop early for your holiday gifts! There will be a limited supply of Christmas ornaments. The “Merry Fish-mas” ones are here and the other two will be arriving shortly! These would make the most perfect package topper to wrap up your Landings Harbor custom gifts!

Delegal Creek Marina

Due to the storms, we had transients extend their stay and others forced to reschedule. A large influx of transients is expected over the next couple of weeks, as the storms also affected the Northern East coast causing many more to be delayed. No major issues or damage were experienced at Delegal Creek Marina. All boats were safely secured and looked after throughout the business day. Roughly two inches of rainfall in 24 hours was recorded from Saturday into early Sunday morning.
