Accidents

On Thursday, November 4, Security and Chatham County Police Department (CCPD) responded to a two-vehicle accident without injuries at the intersection of Tidewater Way and Landings Way South. The driver of the first vehicle attempted to enter onto Landings Way South from the wrong direction. As he was entering, a second vehicle entered into the intersection from the correct direction. The first driver stopped abruptly as he realized he was going the wrong way. The driver of the second vehicle also stopped and attempted to back up. In doing so, the second driver backed into a third vehicle, resulting in minor damages. CCPD issued a citation to the second driver for failing to back up properly.

Security and CCPD responded to McWhorter Drive and West Ridge Road for a report of a vehicle versus deer accident on Friday, November 5. Upon arrival, officers spoke with two drivers who had hit the same deer. The first driver was travelling towards the North Gate and struck the deer, which bounced off her vehicle and into the opposite lane of traffic. The second driver was travelling toward Diamond Causeway and struck the deer a second time. Neither driver was injured, and the deer was deceased upon officers’ arrival.

Suspicious Incidents

On Saturday, November 6, Security received a report of gunshots in the area of Priest Landing Drive and Noble Jones Lane. The sound also was heard by a resident on Ogeechee Ferry Lane as well as a Security officer at the North Gate. Patrol officers checked surrounding areas as well as McWhorter Drive and OSCA Road with negative results. No further reports of gunshots were received.

Third-Party Disputes

Recently, we have received a few requests that The Landings Association ban alleged unscrupulous contractors. As a reminder, we do not get involved in third-party disputes. Nor does the Association have the authority to ban renters, or property owners from living within the Community.
