Real-Time Weather Data Now Available on Landings Website

By Rick Cunningham

With the support of Skidaway Audubon, and in cooperation with the The Landings Association's Strategic Water Committee, a group of resident volunteers are working to provide real-time weather and other environmental data to Landings Residents. In late September 2021, weather stations at both Marinas were upgraded to Davis Vantage Pro2 systems. The stations now are providing data via Weather Underground, but can also be viewed on The Landings Association's Website (www.landings.org).

To view the data, visit www.landings.org/marinas, and then choose "weather" from the lefthand menu. In addition to the 10-day forecast, the page now shows real-time weather reports from both Marinas, including winds and wind gust data.

The project team recently set up a dedicated website (still under development) that can be viewed, once completed, at landingsweather.com. This site will provide current and historical data from multiple weather stations on the island. It currently displays only a few weather stations, but will be expanded over time. The site also now provides data from two real-time sea level sensors installed at the Marinas, and eventually will provide information and data about the shallow aquifers that are used to provide irrigation water from shallow wells. Stay tuned!
