APWA (American Public Works Association) Conference Next Week

Beginning Tuesday of next week, Sean Burgess, Amber Capps, Dylan Till, and Ingrid Poppell will attend the APWA Conference in Jekyll Island. The conference will include vendor expos and continuing education classes through Friday, August 27. During this time, they will have limited access to e-mail. However, you can email them directly or at pwmanagers@landings.org should you have any immediate questions or concerns.

Improvements to the Captains' Lounge at Delegal Creek Marina

This week, in-house staff installed the new ceiling fans and furniture in the Captains' Lounge at Delegal Creek Marina. The new furniture replaced older, repurposed items from the Sunset Pavilion's porch area, which were reviewed and approved in June by the Public Works Committee, Finance Committee, and Board of Directors.

Staff also took the opportunity to pressure wash the facility, install two new screen doors, and replace some of the damaged screens.

Revetment Replacement on Greatcoat Lane

Staff replaced the damaged revetment on Greatcoat Lane this week. Several revetments exist on common property to stabilize and protect surrounding areas from runoff and erosion during weather related events. The cost of this replacement was funded operationally.

2021 Community Path Project

This project is on hold until Absolute Concrete can obtain the color additive that we include in our concrete paths. Once the concrete plant has the color additive in stock, Absolute will continue to work on the conversion of path from the Deer Creek Village Gate to Sundew Road. In the interim, Absolute has been working on the installation of the perimeter walking path around the athletic field.

Athletic Field Project
This week, Absolute Concrete continued to install the base for the new perimeter walking path. Barring any weather delays, the path will be completed by the first of September. As a reminder, the athletic field will not be available for reservations until this portion of the project has been completed.
