President's Update 7-28-2021

This is a letter I hoped I would never have to write. Shari Haldeman, our General Manager/Chief Operating Officer for 17 years, has advised the Board that she is leaving her position at the end of this year due to family circumstances that require her full attention in Ohio. I know this is a very difficult decision for Shari.

I have difficulty finding the right words that truly convey our appreciation for her work over these last 17 years. During the 19 months I have been President, I have witnessed firsthand her hard work, her knowledge, her professionalism, and her dedication which has made her so successful. Our community would not be where it is today without her. It is often said everyone is replaceable…until you find the person that isn’t. Shari is that irreplaceable person. Fortunately, we have Shari until the end of the year.

We now begin the search process for her replacement. It will be challenging. A search committee has been appointed and is taking the initial steps necessary to begin the search. We will keep the community advised of the progress of the search.

We often don’t get the chance to thank some who is leaving. We are fortunate that we will have Shari for a few more months. I urge our community to thank her while we can. The imprint of her hard work will be lasting.
