July Cast Away Club Event Featuring Reptilian Roundup

Baby alligators, snakes, and lizards will slither and slink as the “stars of the show” at the second Cast Away Club event on Saturday, July 17, from 9 to 10:30 a.m. The event will be held at Coastal Conservation Association’s Outdoor Education Center located at the Kids’ Fishing Lagoon adjacent to Log Landing Road and the Oakridge Fire Station.

This interactive seminar will be presented by interns from the University of Georgia’s Marine Education Center and Aquarium and provides a great opportunity for kids to learn more about these animals and the role they play in nature. As always, after the session, youngsters and their parents can fish together with rods, reels, and bait provided by the Skidaway Chapter of the Coastal Conservation Association (CCA). CCA volunteers also will be on hand to assist with the event.

Attendance is limited, so please register as soon as possible at ccaskidaway.org. For more information, email Susie Fusco (sjbfusco@aol.com).
