The Silver Screen Society (SSS) is a Landings-driven charity to promote the performing arts at SCAD. We have been honoring student work since 2004 with an annual scholarship and an endowed scholarship fund. Join your friend and neighbors at The Landings for a good cause and a fun evening.

Members receive the following benefits:

  1. Two VIP reserved seats at the Wednesday night screening.
  2. Hosted, members-only pre-screening reception on Wednesday.
  3. Tax deduction as allowed by law.
  4. A “pay it forward” moment by contributing to the education of a student.

SSS created the Silver Screen Award in 2004 to support student filmmakers at SCAD. The award has been presented every year since and includes a cash grant that has grown from $1,000 to the current amount of $3,000. The award is given for the Best SCAD Student Short Film entered in competition at the Savannah Film Festival. We have awarded more than $35,000 in student grants.

In addition to the Silver Screen Award, SSS produces a panel during the film festival to help guide students in pursuing a career in filmmaking. We also produce a Directors Lab that uses professional directors, producers, and actors to mentor six handpicked students who must produce, direct, and present a short film in just four days.

SSS is offering a limited number of new memberships. Annual membership dues are $200 and include the benefits listed above. Join our group for fun, to meet new people, and to support a good cause.
